Global steel production in 64 producing countries in August 2022 amounted to 150.6 million tons, which is 3% lower than last year.
Africa produced 1.3 million tons in August, up 3.5% from August 2021. Asia and Oceania - 112.6 million tons, which is 0.2% lower. The EU-27 countries produced 9.7 million tons of steel, down 13.3% from last year. The rest of Europe produced 3.6 million tons, down 18.6%. The countries of the Middle East increased steel production in August by 34.2% to 3.2 million tons. North America reduced production by 5.4% to 9.6 million tons. Russia and the CIS countries produced 6.9 million tons, which is 22.4% lower than last year. South America reduced production by 10.1% to 3.6 million tons.

Turkey - 2.8 million tons (- 21.0%). 9. Brazil - 2.8 million tons (- 11.3%). 10. Iran - 2.1 million tons (+ 64.7%).
