According to the latest London Metal Exchange (LME) nickel price data, the three-month nickel price hit $ 20,145 per tonne on September 9, also the highest since 2014.
The stainless steel futures price was stimulated by the high nickel price, with the stainless steel futures closing price on September 9 at about RMB 19,465 per tonne.
In terms of future demand, most market participants believed that the easing of the auto chip shortage could provide further support for stainless steel prices in the next half of this year.
